The house Kuckumer Straße 21 is in the district Wanlo in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ).
The building was built in the middle of the 19th century. It was entered under No. K 037 on September 13, 1988 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
architecture
It is a two-storey eaves house with three unequal axes with a pitched roof covered with concrete tiles and a gate entrance on the left. The half-timbered building, which is open across, has been renewed in brick on the street side . Two Mauersplinte in the facade in the form of items 1 and 7 (rudimentary dating), and for the specific in the region traufständigen unusually low Bauer type of dwelling axles suggest that the original stock, the right half -the was partitioned present Nachbarhaus-.
In the right half of the building on each floor there are two arched window openings with sills ; those of the upper floor of decreasing height. Above the gate passage two vertically spanned, later broken window openings. The entrance gate, which ends with a lintel right lintel, still reveals the originally round arched and keystone opening. The gate passage and the back of the house have been preserved in half-timbered construction with plastered infills .
Within the largely original structure in the passage there is a strong crossbeam with the inscription "Anno MRA 1681". Whether this dating inscription corresponds to the actual year of construction or whether this bar was "reused" here cannot be definitely assessed. The windows on the rear face are arranged in an irregular arrangement and not in their original size; the gate passage closed by masonry or wood facing and used as living space (with exit to the vaulted cellar ). The courtyard is closed to the left by a high brick wall, to the right by a single-storey extension from the 1840s. Like this extension, the half-timbered building opposite the residential building (no. 23) is not part of the monumental substance.
