action

The American Ursula Stanhope goes on a trip to Africa. Her fiancé Lyle van de Groot comes to visit her with Max and Thor. When the expedition leader told Kwame the legend about the "white monkey", Lyle and his helpers got it into their heads to catch and sell him. Lyle and Ursula are walking through the woods when they are attacked by a lion. Lyle runs off to get help. George, who was left behind in a plane crash in Africa as a baby and raised by the Gorilla Ape, saves her.

Stanhope befriends George and meets some of the animals that live in the jungle. For example the elephant who thinks he is a dog. Stanhope brings George to her home in San Francisco , where she introduces him to society. Meanwhile, Max and Thor try to capture Ape after hearing him speak. They are arrested and released a little later.

Ursula's mother Beatrice Stanhope fears that the friendship between Ursula and George could endanger the marriage of her daughter with Lyle van de Groot, which Beatrice was aiming for. Ursula realizes that she loves George. George is notified that Max and Thor are again chasing Ape. He returns to Africa and saves Ape.

Ursula travels to Africa again. Lyle van de Groot follows her and kidnaps her. However, he and his helpers are overwhelmed by George. George and Ursula get married in the jungle and have a baby. Ape has its own show in Las Vegas , in which Max and Thor later appear.
