Thomas E. Ackerman

Thomas Edward Ackerman (born September 14, 1948 in Cedar Rapids , Iowa ) is an American cinematographer .

Life

Thomas E. Ackerman studied at the University of Iowa , where he already took his first film courses. He then worked from 1968 for the documentary filmmaker Charles Guggenheim . After serving his military service in the United States Air Force , he returned to Guggenheim before moving to Los Angeles in 1973 . There he was able to gain a foothold in the film thanks to the help of his Air Force comrade Mike Robe . Ackerman made his debut in 1980 as a cameraman for a feature film with the horror film Rocknacht des Grauens directed by Emmett Alston . Since then he has been responsible for the camera of films such as Beetlejuice , Jumanji and Scary Movie 4 , among other things .
