action

Joe is of Irish descent and lives in the Bronx, New York . One day he learns that he has a brain tumor . On the same day, his wife asked for a divorce.

Joe wants to use the weeks left for him and goes away. He meets Alice Mason in Louisville, who steals from him first. Joe learns that Alice committed the act because she owes money to loan sharks George The Geek and Elton.

Joe and Mason, the single mother of two children, grow closer. Joe runs into a local gangster who wants to hand Joe over to a killer who has just arrived from New York. It turns out, however, that Joe knows the man well, albeit without knowing what his occupation is. Joe learns that his ex-wife's father is a Mafia godfather.

Joe undergoes brain surgery in a hospital. Mason and her children wait by his bed when he wakes up. At first he doesn't seem to recognize her, but then it turns out that he was just joking.

Reviews

Janet Branagan wrote in the Apollo Movie Guide that Sharon Stone's career was in decline, to which this film contributed. The action is predictable. Sharon Stone and Billy Connolly wouldn't go together; Ian Holm is miscast.

The lexicon of international films said: "Despite a prominent cast with Sharon Stone, a small film in the form of a road movie romance, which does not really succeed in switching between comedy and drama and whose predictability quickly slackens interest."

background

The film was shot in Vancouver .
