Jurnee Diana Smollett-Bell (born October 1, 1986 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress . She became known through the series On Our Own , in which she appears with her five siblings.

Life

Jurnee Smollett is the daughter of Janet and Joel Smollett. Smollett was already in front of the camera at the age of seven. She grew up with her four brothers Jojo, Jake, Jussie and Jocqui and her sister Jazz. All siblings have acting experience.

On October 24, 2010, Smollett married the musician Josiah Bell.
