The Mob Doctor is an American television series about a doctor who works for the mafia in Chicago to pay off her brother's debts. The series is based on the novel Il Dottore: The Double Life of a Mafia Doctor by Ron Felber. The first broadcast took place on September 17, 2012 on Fox , while the German-language first broadcast took place on April 22, 2013 on the pay-TV channel Sony Entertainment Television .

Young surgeon Grace Devlin is one of Chicago's finest cardiac surgeons. But nobody suspects that she leads a secret double life as a doctor for the local mafia around Constantine Alexander. She leads this life to pay off her brother Nate's gambling debts. She works in the clinic during the day and tends to gunshot wounds at night. Grace is plagued by a conflict of conscience and has to keep her double life a secret from her friend Brett and her staff.

The Mob Doctor was broadcast in the United States by Fox . The first and only season ran between September 17, 2012 and January 7, 2013. The series was already mediocre at the premiere and lost many viewers in the following weeks, so that in the end only a meager 3.27 million viewers and a rating of 0.9 remained in the target group of 18 to 49 year olds.
As early as November 2012, the station announced that the series would be discontinued after the 13 episodes due to low audience ratings.

The series premiered in Germany on pay-TV channel Sony Entertainment Television between April 22 and June 6, 2013. The television broadcaster sixx has secured the free TV rights to the series . A specific broadcast date is not yet known.

In Austria, the broadcaster ORF eins has been broadcasting the series since January 20, 2014.
