Mike Starr (born July 29, 1950 in Flushing , Queens , New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Starr grew up in a working-class family under simple conditions: his mother was a saleswoman, his father a packer in a meat factory. He studied at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York . In 1980 he made his acting debut in a supporting role in William Friedkin's thriller Cruising . Due to his broad and tall build (192 cm) and his character head, Mike Starr is often cast in roles as a criminal and thug, for example in the films Goodfellas , Bodyguard , Ed Wood , Miller's Crossing or His Name is Mad Dog .

His older brother Beau Starr is also an actor.
