Željko Ivanek
Željko Ivanek (born August 15, 1957 in Ljubljana , Yugoslavia , now Slovenia ) is a Slovenian -American actor .
Life
Ivanek was born in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . In 1960, when he was three years old, he emigrated to the United States with his parents. After two years the family moved back to Yugoslavia, but returned to the USA in 1967. Ivanek graduated from Yale University in 1978 and then attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .
Ivanek became known through the role of Andre Drazen in the television series 24 , in which he appeared in 15 episodes in 2002. In 2007 he worked in the series Damages - Im Netz der Macht , for which he was awarded an Emmy in 2008 .
Ivanek also appears on Broadway . In 2006 he was in the play The Caine Was Her Fate by Herman Wouk alongside David Schwimmer and Timothy Daly . For this role he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor .
