The plot mainly parodies The Hunger Games - The Hunger Games . Evil President Snowballs' televised 75th Starving Games are a life and death tournament. Kantmiss Evershot, played by Maiara Walsh and a nod to Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take part to protect her younger sister, who was actually selected at the selection ceremony. Brant Daugherty's role as Dale is supposed to play Gale and Cody Christian is Peter aka Peeta Mellark.

Reviews
The reviews were extremely negative. Filmstarts sums it up: “ The Panem turkey doesn’t exceed our worst fears, but it fulfills them in full!” At Moviemaze it says: “The blasts that torture us every few years with underground parodies are back.” The headline of the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung "Starving Film Parody - The best thing about 'The Panem Turkey' is the title". The Filmdienst wrote: "A miserable, totally more pointless attempt at a parody of the successful" Hunger Games "franchise (...). At no point does the film succeed in even touching its parodic potential. Instead he slavishly follows the action of the model and exhausts himself in a series of meaningless allusions and tired jokes below the belt. "
On Metacritic , Die Pute von Panem usually got zero points, with Rotten Tomatoes there is not a single positive review for the flick. Hollywood.com described the film as "a parody of The Hunger Games , which no one needs" ( " 'The Hunger Games' Parody That No One Asked For").
