Alexa Davalos Dunas (born May 28, 1982 in Paris ) is a French - American actress and former model . She has appeared in several Hollywood productions, including Riddick: A Warrior's Chronicles , The Mist, and Clash of the Titans . Since 2015 she worked on the television series The Man in the High Castle , which ended in 2019.

Life

The only daughter of the photographer Jeff Dunas and the actress Elyssa Davalos - and thus the granddaughter of the actor Richard Davalos - born in Paris in 1982, Alexa Davalos spent her childhood in different places of residence in France, Italy and the USA. At the age of seventeen she settled in New York City, where she worked as a model for photographer Peter Lindbergh , among others .

Although Davalos rejected acting in her youth, the then 19-year-old realized her passion for it in 2002. She began her acting career with the television films Untitled Secret Service Project and The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald , which was screened at the 27th Toronto International Film Festival , as well as guest roles on the television series American Campus - Ready for University? and Angel - Hunter of Darkness .

At the side of Vin Diesel in Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior , she made her breakthrough into Hollywood cinema in 2004. The production of the television series Reunion with Davalos in a leading role was discontinued in 2006 after 13 episodes. In The Magic of Love and The Fog , Davalos was back on the big screen the following year. In Defiance - For my brothers who never gave up by director Edward Zwick in 2008, she played a Polish Jewish woman during the Nazi occupation. Davalos confirmed the feeling of a certain connection to the figure she embodied and the region, since her ancestors were of Jewish-Lithuanian origin. Since 2015 she was seen in a leading role in the series The Man in the High Castle . The series ended in 2019 after four seasons.

Davalos speaks fluent French , Greek , English and Spanish , in particular due to her multilingual upbringing . From her eventful youth, she says she developed a passion for traveling. She has both French and American citizenship.
