Jeffrey DeMunn (born April 25, 1947 in Buffalo , New York ) is an American actor .

Life and accomplishments

DeMunn graduated from Union College in Schenectady ( New York ) in 1969 . He made his debut in the television drama The Last Tenant from 1978. In Miloš Forman's drama Ragtime (1981) he played the role of Harry Houdini .

DeMunn took over in the thriller Citizen X , the role of the serial killer Andrei Chikatilo . For this role he won the CableACE Award in 1995 and was nominated for an Emmy Award . For the role in the film The Green Mile (1999), he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2000 as a member of the actors' ensemble . In the comedy The Majestic (2001) he played one of the bigger roles on the side of Jim Carrey .

DeMunn was seen in a total of seven episodes of the television series Law & Order from 1993 to 2004 . He also appeared in individual episodes of other series. He was nominated for a Tony Award in 1983 for the role in the play K2 .

His son Kevin DeMunn is also an actor.

DeMunn has starred in numerous Stephen King films: The Green Mile (Warden), The Condemned (cameo as prosecutor), The Storm of the Century (Mayor) and The Mist (film adaptation of the short story The Fog from the collection At Dawn ) and im Originally read two of his books as audio books ( Duddits and Colorado Kid ).

From 2010 to 2012 he played a leading role in the zombie television series The Walking Dead .
