action

On the superficial level of the stories or film episodes , Ian Mitchell embodies a lawyer and family man. One day he receives a box with a pistol and a photo of a man he does not know, along with an order to kill him. Shortly thereafter, Ian himself is attacked by a stranger. He finds out that he has been chosen by a mysterious organization ("The Guardians") to take part in a deadly game.

background

The circumstances in the course of action and the technical possibilities that can be derived from it, as well as the socio-cultural circumstances of that fictional society, refer in the sense of a diegesia (the narrated world) to an electronically and informationally strongly networked world with well-developed options for electronic monitoring and the playful tendencies of an economically independent, oligarchic group, which to a certain extent enjoys modern gladiator fights , acts manipulatively in a largely unlawful area and brings the players destined for action into strong, vital-threatening conflicts of appetite and aversion or conflicts of ambivalence. The individual actors in their moral principles and conscience formation are called upon to dissolve these inner attitudes in favor of the behavioral patterns of a psychopathic and antisocial personality disorder .
