Dan Bucatinsky (born September 22, 1965 ) is an American actor , screenwriter and television producer.

Life

Bucatinsky attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie , New York . He has appeared as an actor in various US films and television series. He has been married to screenwriter Don Roos since 2008 and they have two children. Bucatinsky wrote the book Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight ?: Confessions of a Gay Dad . In 2013 he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role as James Novak on the television series Scandal .

Since 1997 he has also appeared as a screenwriter and since 2001 he has also worked as a producer, primarily for television. Among other things, he was involved in the development of the Web Therapy series.
