action

In 2002, Ava is 14 years old and wakes up in the middle of the night. She finds her father murdered. 13 years later, she married the wealthy Derek Grant and they went on their honeymoon in the Caribbean . Derek's family owns a summer house there. When the two meet Manny one evening, he invites them to a nightclub , where Ava gets into a fight with some men, including the dreaded criminal Big Biz. The three flee. The next morning Manny invites the two of them to a zip line in the rainforest . The two of them have fun, but because of her fear of heights, Ava doesn't want to slide down the largest section. However, Derek does. When his rope breaks he can save himself at the last moment and oJo comes to his aid, but he finally slips off and falls into the forest. It is only slowed down by a few branches before it lands on the ground. Ava runs into the rainforest and finds him very badly injured. When the ambulance wants to leave, Ava wants to go with it, but the paramedics tell her that this would not be possible for insurance reasons. Ava follows the ambulance on a motorcycle, but when she gets into a traffic accident, she loses it. Immediately after the accident, at Ava's request, the perpetrator drives her to the hospital where the paramedics wanted to drive Derek, but the woman at reception tells her that no Derek Grant has been admitted. She finally goes in search of Derek and asks about him in all the hospitals on the island, but he has not been admitted to any hospital, so she finally goes to the police, where Chief Ramón Garza takes on the case after informing her in-laws Has. They go back to the zip line and actually find oJo again, who, however, denies being here yesterday. Since the police are not much help, Ava tries to find her husband herself and goes back to the zip line. She attaches oJo to her belt and slides down with him. She asks him about everything and films the whole thing, which she then shows the chief, who then has her arrested and taken from the island with a police officer. However, she escapes and goes to the nightclub again. When she sees Manny, she waits until he goes to the bathroom and beats all information out of him. Eventually they look for Derek together and Ava finds a poster with the same tattoo on the one medic. They drive to the address on the poster and while Manny livestreams Ava on his cell phone to find the paramedic, she finds him and drives after him without Manny. She tortures information from the medic and kills his brother, the other medic, after he attacks her with a gun. She ends up in a cell with Chief Garza again and is charged with murder and attempted murder and is the prime suspect in the case of her husband's disappearance. When the two police officers who are supposed to drive them away stop in a deserted place and dig a hole, Ava breaks her thumb and breaks the handcuffs and kills both police officers. Then she goes to the chief's home and threatens his family. He finally admits that he is involved and that her husband is dead. The doctor had made a mistake and asked him for discretion, since he was friends with him. Ava visits the doctor in the hospital and suddenly sees Derek on the surveillance cameras as he is being pushed by several people in a wheelchair. Ava threatens him with her gun and they both pretend she's his assistant. It turns out that Derek was kidnapped to "donate" the spinal cord for Silvio Lugo. Ava escapes with Derek and Silvio as hostages , but is followed by several gunmen. Silvio jumps out of the car and Manny leads Ava and Derek through the streets until they are at his house. While Ava and Silvio are fighting and Silvio ends up as Ava's hostage, Derek is arrested by corrupt police officers. Then Big Biz shows up and ends the conflict by killing Silvio. Ava, Derek, and Manny leave. Ava and Derek say goodbye and thank Manny for everything and fly home again.
