Olga Kurylenko Kostjantyniwna ( Ukrainian Ольга Костянтинівна Куриленко / Olha Kurylenko Kostjantyniwna ; Russian Ольга Константиновна Куриленко / Olga Konstantinovna Kurilenko * 14. November 1979 in Berdyansk , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a French model and actress of Ukrainian origin .

life and career

As a child of divorced parents, Olga Kurylenko grew up in poor conditions. At the age of 13, she was discovered by a model scout on the Moscow subway . She moved to Paris where she studied art. Numerous renowned model orders followed, including for the front pages of Elle and Vogue as well as for advertising campaigns by Bébé and Clarins . She has been a French citizen since 2001.

Kurylenko began her film career in France in 2005. In 2006 she won an award at the Brooklyn International Film Festival for her first major role in the romance film L'annulaire . She also had roles in the French thriller The Snake (2007), in Paris, je t'aime (2006) and in Hitman - Everyone dies alone (2007). In the 22nd James Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008) she played the leading female role as Bond girl Camille .

Contrary to rumors to the contrary, Kurylenko played the nude scenes in Hitman - Everyone Dies Alone as well as in her film debut L'annulaire herself. In 2008, she also posed naked for the December issue of the men's magazine Maxim .

Kurylenko's increasing popularity sparked a divided echo in the East Slavic countries. For example, a group from Saint Petersburg wrote an open letter to the actress, describing her as a “deserter of the Slavic world” and a “lost daughter of the unhappy Ukraine”. An ingratiation to the USA and “moral betrayal” are criticized, especially because of her role in Quantum of Solace . However, she received support in Berdyansk, her Ukrainian hometown, where Mayor Anatoly Stepanenko openly stated that he was "proud of the star Kurylenko". In 2009 she was voted the Most sexy Bond Girl of all time ahead of Halle Berry .

Kurylenko was married to the French fashion photographer Cedric Van Mol. The marriage entered into in 1999 was divorced after three and a half years. Her second marriage to the entrepreneur Damian Gabriel Neufeld was also divorced at the end of 2007. From 2014 to 2018 she was in a relationship with the British journalist Max Benitz and has a son with him (* 2015). She has been in a relationship with fellow British actor Ben Cura since 2018.
