Rudolf Holze (born November 14, 1954 in Hildesheim ) is a German chemist and professor for physical chemistry and electrochemistry at the Technical University of Chemnitz .

Holze passed his Abitur in 1973 at the state high school for modern language and natural sciences in Ahrweiler . From 1973 to 1979 he studied chemistry at the University of Bonn and completed his studies with a diploma thesis on "New cathode materials for lithium batteries" . As an academic student of Wolf Vielstich , he did his doctorate four years later on the subject of "Impedance measurements on porous electrodes" . From 1983 to 1984 Holze worked as a research assistant at the Case Center for Electrochemical Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland , USA , and in 1989 he completed his habilitation in physical chemistry at the University of Oldenburg .

In 1993 he accepted a professorship in physical chemistry / electrochemistry at the TU Chemnitz and in 1995 founded the research group electrochemistry in Saxony . Since 2011, Holze has been the first electrochemist to be a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences .

His research areas include electrochemistry and the structural and dynamic analysis of electrochemical phase boundaries.
