Karsten Wöhler (born November 14, 1974 in Dingelstädt ) is a former handball player . From 2009 to 2018 he was the sporting director and manager at the handball club ThSV Eisenach .
Career
Karsten Wöhler started playing handball in his home in Thuringia . The 1.85-meter-tall left winger came to the second division team Göttingen 05 via Frankfurt / Oder in 1993 . After two years he moved to THW Kiel in the 1st handball league in 1995 . With the Kiel team, he won the German championship in 1996 and the triple of championship, DHB Cup and EHF Cup in 1998 . Then Wöhler moved to league competitor ThSV Eisenach for six seasons. From 2004 he played for MSG Melsungen-Böddiger (from 2005 MT Melsungen ), with whom he rose to the first division in 2005. In 2007 he returned to ThSV Eisenach, where he moved to management after the end of his playing career in 2009. He ended this position on July 31, 2018.
Since December 2018 Wöhler has been the manager of the second division club HC Elbflorenz , with whom he signed a contract until 2022.
