Bartolomé Carducho , actually Bartolomeo Carducci (* around 1560 in Florence , † November 14, 1608 in Madrid ) was an Italian painter .

Student of Bartolomeo Ammanati , Carducci worked with Federico Zuccari between 1574 and 1579 on the Florentine cathedral dome, followed him to Rome and 1585 to Spain . While Zuccari returned to Italy, Carducci stayed in Spain, married Jeronima Cappello and, in addition to painting, was also a dealer in paintings that he obtained from Italy. In 1593 he applied to be admitted to the Accademia del Disegno in Florence, which Gregorio Pagani (1558-1605) submitted. In 1598 he became court painter to Philip III. He died in 1608. Carducho's main works are: the stigmatization of St. Francis in the monastery of St. Jerome, the removal of the cross on San Felipe el Real in Madrid, the adoration of the kings in the Alcázar of Segovia . He took his brother Vincenzo to Spain as an assistant and taught him painting.
