Joachim Bernhard Nicolaus Hacker
Joachim Bernhard Nicolaus Hacker , also modernized Joachim Bernhard Nikolaus Hacker , (born November 14, 1760 in Wittenberg , † October 4, 1817 in Zscheila ) was a German theologian , poet and writer .
Life
Joachim Bernhard Nicolaus was born as the son of the second deacon at the city church of Wittenberg Georg Nicolaus Hacker (1732-1807) and his wife Friederike Wilhelmine neumeister on November 14, 1760 in Wittenberg . After attending the Princely School in Grimma from December 1, 1773 to October 16, 1779, he studied at the university in his hometown , where on April 30, 1783 he obtained the academic degree of a master's degree in philology .
He initially earned his living as a private tutor in Dresden and was ordained in Wittenberg on May 5, 1786. From then on he worked in various theological offices. From 1786 to 1788 he was adjunct and rector of the school in Gommern , from 1788 to 1790 he was a deacon, from 1790 to 1796 pastor in Haseloff, from 1796 to 1805 pastor in Straach , 1805 to 1812 pastor in Brück and from 1812 to his Death on October 4, 1817 pastor in Zscheila near Meißen.
Joachim BN Hacker wrote several writings on edification and instruction, which were well received by his contemporaries. His greatest work was thanatology or memoirs in the field of tombs, an entertaining reader for the sick and dying in four parts, the last part was published in 1799. Another is called Jesus the Wise of Nazareth, an ideal of all sizes, for all his true admirers for further reflection presented in two volumes, published in 1800 and 1803. The titles of these writings show that the author paid homage to the Enlightenment, which was then in its prime. The New General German Library , which almost only praises the individual volumes, emphasizes the beautiful presentation several times by name, but when discussing the fourth part of Thanatology (volume 54, item 2, page 262), it shows that it would not be a misfortune if the author didn't print anything more. Even before these edification writings, Hacker had published the collection of sacred songs and chants for private use in Pirna in 1783. Some of his songs are said to have been included in the community hymn books.
