Filipos Kasidokostas (born November 14, 1983 ) is a Greek carom player and world and European champion in the three-cushion discipline .

Career

In 2001, at the age of 18, Kasidokostas won the three-cushion world junior championship in Lausanne, Switzerland for the first time . In the following two years he was able to defend this title. In 2004 he became the European junior champion , having previously finished third (2001) and second (2002). From 2003 Kasidokostas played in both the juniors and the seniors. So it came about that he was also vice world champion in the seniors that year. In the World Cup final he only had to admit defeat to Semih Saygıner from Turkey . In the following tournament he made it to the final again, but lost there, former world champion (2000) Dick Jaspers from the Netherlands .

With his compatriot Nikos Polychronopoulos he spearheaded the Greek sport of billiards. The two took second place behind Turkey (Semih Saygıner / Tayfun Taşdemir ) at the three-cushion world championship for national teams in Viersen in 2003 . His last great successes were winning the AGIPI Billard Masters in Schiltigheim, Alsace in 2011 and the European Championships in 2012 in Istanbul .

On March 17, 2013 he won the Barrage Open in Athens ahead of his compatriots Nikos Polychronopoulos and Apostolos Balogiannis.

UMB lock 2019

Kasidokostas signed a contract with the newly founded Professional Billiards Association (of Korea) PBA in spring 2019 . Since the PBA is not a member of the UMB, players who take part in PBA tournaments are banned from participating in the tournament for one year, up to a maximum of three years. This ended his UMB season at the end of the 2018/19 season.
