She comes from a family of billiards players, even her grandfather, mother, father and uncle played billiards. Her brother Jarno is also a good pool player.

Career

First she played the free game before switching to three cushion at the age of 19, which she has remained loyal to to this day. The 1.67 m tall Dutch girl was looked after and trained by Christ van der Smissen for many years.

At the 2006 Women's World Cup, she finished second behind the all-time title holder Orie Hida from Japan, and at the third World Cup of the year she set the highest series (HS) of 12.

When she first took part in the three-cushion World Cup in Hurghada in 2012 , she made it through to the qualifying round of the last 64 and finished 51st. In February 2013 she was 77 at the World Cup in Antalya , Turkey .

At the beginning of May 2013 she won the “Femina Belgian Open” in Zoersel . In the semifinals she was initially victorious against her permanent competitor Karina Jetten , and in the final she successfully prevailed against the Japanese Namiko Hayashi with 30:17 in 31 shots .

At the Verhoeven Open (women) in New York in July, she defeated four-time world champion Orie Hida in 17 shots with 25:16 and won the title for the second time in a row. In the final, she also played the “best game” of the tournament with an average of 1.471. She then took part in the regular Verhoeven Open and won three of four games in the first round against Steve Anderson / USA (25:18; 34 pictures; ED 0.735), Manuel Lindao / Ecuador (25:11; 10 pictures ; ED 2.500 - personal best!) And Gang Won-sik / South Korea (25:22; 35 shots; ED 0.714). Only the owner of the venue (Carom Café) and friend of the former co-owner Sang Chun Lee , Michael Kang , she had to admit defeat at 12:25.
