Glenn Hofman (born February 2, 1990 in The Hague , Netherlands ) is a Dutch carom player and European junior three-cushion champion .

Career

He started playing billiards at the age of 10, inspired by his father. In his youth he switched from the free game to three cushion and became a student of national coach Christ van der Smissen .

In 2009 and 2011 he won the European three-cushion youth title. His best performances are a joint third place at the 2013 European Championship and two second places at the Dutch Three Cushion Championship in 2016 and 2017.

At the three-cushion European championship in 2013 in Brandenburg an der Havel , he took third place, he only failed in the semifinals against Belgian star player Frédéric Caudron . In the same year he also won bronze at the World Games , in the game for third place he defeated the South Korean Kim Kyung-roul with 40:15. 2017 and 2018 he won with his German club Bottrop Billiards Academy (together with Christian Rudolph , Jean van Erp and Tobias Bouerdick the) German Cup team championship . At the three-cushion European Championship in 2019 , he made it to the quarter-finals, after beating the old stars Frédéric Caudron and Daniel Sánchez in a row in the final round , but then failed against the Spaniard Rubén Legazpi with 24:40.

He has been playing for the South Korean Professional Billiards Association (PBA) since summer 2019 and was then banned from the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) and CEB for one year. (→ see also: PBA conflict ).

Private

Hofman still lives in The Hague and has been married to the Colombian Andrea Manrique Hernandez since 2015. Sometimes he lives with her in Colombia to recover from the stressful tournament life.
