Carlos Anguita Diaz (born January 16, 1997 in Valencia ) is a Spanish carambola player and world and European champion.

Career

Anguilla, who lives in Los Naranjos ( Málaga ), is an outspoken three-cushion player . His first success came in 2011 in the Spanish U17 Championship with a fourth place. When he took part in the Junior World Cup (U21) for the first time in 2014, he had to be content with the penultimate place (15th). Then in 2016 a first podium at the European Junior Championship in front of a home crowd in Murcia . In the following Junior World Championships he failed in the quarterfinals against the Korean Shin Jung-ju with 30:35 and finished seventh. 2017 was his most successful year as an amateur player to date. The student of the Spanish Billiards Academy first wins the three-cushion European Championship (U21) in Brandenburg an der Havel , followed by the Spanish championship and then in September the Junior World Championships in front of a home crowd in Narejos . On April 3, 2018, however, as the reigning world and European champion, he lost the final of the European Championships in Ronchin, France against the 20-year-old French Gwendal Maréchal with 30:15 in 22 shots and thus his title. At the 2018 Junior World Championships , he improved the series record set by Filipos Kasidokostas in 2002 to 16 points, but was only able to take 3rd place in the end.
