Failures and successors

Due to the short-term cancellation of the Vietnamese Chiem Hong Tai and Le Hoang Kim, the Turk Alptekin Canozkan and the Spaniard Ivan Mayor move into the field of participants. After Turkey's Denizkan Akkoca failed, Kim Hannuri and Percy Martinez play a double round in Group C.

Tournament commentary

The tournament was broadcast live by Internet TV station Kozoom . The defending champion Cho Myung-woo is taking part for the seventh time, and because of the age limit, for the last time. After two titles (2016, 2018) a silver medal in 2014 and a bronze medal in 2017, he is the clear favorite of the tournament. Last year's successor Alessio D'Agata from Italy is taking part for the second time and, as a bronze medalist, has a good chance of winning another medal. This time too, Cho Myung-woo made it to the finals, where he met his compatriot Ko Jung-seo, whom he beat with 35:24 in 19 shots and thus won his third and last title at the Junior World Championships.
