The ANAG Billard Cup was a tournament series in a collision and was held as a triathlon in the disciplines cadre 71/2 , cover and three cushion in Olomouc , Czech Republic .

history

The tournament was founded in 2011 by M. Wytek, the chairman of the board of the Czech publishing house "ANDRAGOGOS AGENCY". The tournament name is a box word made up of the first two letters of the company name. Andragogos is also the host of the tournament. One of the supporters is the Belgian billiard cloth manufacturer Iwan Simonis .

If only six players were invited to the first tournament, the number of participants doubled in 2012. The German Wolfgang Zenkner and the Austrian Arnim Kahofer (AUT) have been there from the start, as well as the Czech Marek Faus, the Swiss Xavier Gretillat and the Spanish Esteve Mata.

Mata won the first tournament in 2011. Eddy Leppens won the second tournament in 2012, the previous year's third Kahofer and Zenkner did not get beyond the group stage. After two fifth places in the first two years, Gretillat won the third tournament in 2013, Kahofer was third again, Zenkner was eliminated in the quarter-finals (as was the great three- cushion specialist Torbjörn Blomdahl ).

In 2014, the organizer was no longer able to provide the funds to hold the tournament and the tournament series was put on hold for an indefinite period.

mode

There are currently twelve players invited to the tournament. The disciplines are:

The whole tournament will be played with a push . In the event of a tie, both players receive one point each, and two points are awarded for a game that is won.

The players are drawn in four groups (A – D) of three players each. The first two in the group make it to the quarter-finals. In the group stage, the game is played in round-robin mode, from the quarter-finals onwards in a simple knockout system .
