Free Game World Championship (Egypt)

Cairo

The Free Game World Championship was held 17 times in 15 locations in six countries in the free game carom variant between 1928 and 1969 . It was organized by the World Carom Association UMB ( Union Mondiale de Billard ).

history

The last world championship took place in Linz in 1969 . That's why the Belgian Raymond Ceulemans is still the reigning world champion. With the improvement of the pool tables over the years, it was no longer so difficult for the best pool players in the world to control the balls. Thus, the free game tournaments were only so-called America series . Here you played the balls in a certain position near a board and then scored large series around the table. So a lot of actors ended the games in one shot .

All world championships were played over a distance of 500 points.

Records

Edmond Soussa was the first athlete to play a game in one shot at a World Cup in 1931 . A large number of actors followed who succeeded in doing the same.

Raymond Ceulemans achieved the best GD at a free game world championship with 178.42. In a pentathlon in Antwerp in 1965, the Dutchman Henk Scholte managed to achieve a GD of 375.00.

The maximum series (HS) in the outdoor game at a World Cup also achieved Henk Scholte 2500 Points ( prolonged ) in Antwerp.
