Joaquín Domingo Sánchez (born August 16, 1917 ; † February 27, 1981 ) was a Spanish carambola player and multiple world and European champion. His main discipline was art pushing .

Career

Domingo is one of the most successful Spanish players, but also internationally. With 10 international gold medals, he is unbeaten to date, a gold medal collection that his compatriot Daniel Sánchez has not yet been able to achieve. He was an all-round player who mastered all classic disciplines from the free game to cadre and binding to three- cushion. His love, however, was art kick or billiard artistique. He began his international career with his participation in the binding world championship in 1934, at the age of only 17 years. He immediately played his way to fifth place. His playing strength quickly increased and he won his first title in 1948 at the three-cushion European Championship in front of a home crowd in Madrid. It was to remain his only three-volume title. In 1949 the EM title followed in Cadre 71/2. Between 1957 and 1966 he won gold medals at the World Championships in art pushing three times, only the Belgian Raymond Steylaerts was more successful with six gold medals. He ended his career at the age of 58 with a bronze medal at the 1975 World Cup in Mol, Belgium . In total, Domingo was able to win 32 medals at world and European championships, plus 67 Spanish titles.
