The European pentathlon championship has been held since 1954 in the carom variant pentathlon (an all-around competition with the disciplines free party , binding , three-cushion and two different cadre variants). It was organized by the European carom billiards association CEB ( Confédération Européenne de Billard ).

History and modes

The tournaments from 1954 to 1973 were played at maximum distance in all disciplines. Each actor competed against each other. The tournament lasted over a week. It was played in the disciplines Free Part, Cadre 47/2, Einband, Cadre 71/2 and Three Cushion (in that order). From 1977 to 1980 the discipline Cadre 47/2 was exchanged for Cadre 47/1.

Game distances

  • From 1954 to 1973: Free game (500 points), cadre 47/2 (400 points), binding (200 points) cadre 71/2 (300 points) and three-cushion (60 points)
  • From 1977 to 1980: Free game (250 points), cadre 47/1 (150 points), binding (100 points) cadre 71/2 (150 points) and three-cushion (30 points)

Records

For each discipline there is a coefficient that is used to determine the so-called relative general average (VGD) .
