The binding world championship has been held at irregular intervals since 1934 in the single binding carom variant . It has been organized by the World Carom Association (UMB) ( Union Mondiale de Billard ) since 1968 , previously by the UIFAB ( Union Internationale des Fédérations des Amateurs de Billard ).
The record winner is the Belgian Raymond Ceulemans with 6 titles, the current title holder is the Belgian Frédéric Caudron .

The best game played Francis Connesson 1978 in Bruges and Ludo Dielis 1983 in Rucphen with 66.66 GD . Francis Connesson also holds the series world record with 199 points (1978 Bruges).
Jean Paul de Bruijn achieved the best GD at a single binding world championship with 16.40 in Elda (2007). At the pentathlon world championship in Ghent in 1972, Raymond Ceulemans even achieved a GD of 17.91 in the cover.
