The 1995 binding world championship was the 15th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from 19th to 22nd January 1995 in Carvin in the French region of Hauts-de-France. It was the fifth binding world championship in France.
history
The binding World Cup in Carvin was a great success for the relatively small town of Carvin, about 20 km from the northern French metropolis of Lille. 700 spectators were already present at the opening. The hall in the "Complexe Sportif de Carvin" had space for 1000 spectators. Again and again numerous interested parties could not enter due to lack of space. The tournament was played over a longer distance again, which increased the performance of the players. The deserved winner was the Dutchman Jos Bongers , who defeated the local hero Francis Connesson in the final with 150: 112 in 15 shots. Defending champion Fonsy Grethen was third in front of the strong Belgian Peter de Backer . The World Cup was a little disappointing for the German participants.
mode
The game was played in four groups of four, in which the two group best qualified for the second group phase. Here the two group winners played in the final and the runner-up for third place. All places were played out. The game was played up to 150 points.

Heinrich Weingartner: Billard . Ed .: billard Heinrich Weingartner . March, No. 73 . Self-published, 1995, ZDB -ID 1087098-2 , p. 10-13 .
Due to the decreased international interest, the 2014 World Cup will probably have been the last.
