The 1979 binding world championship was the tenth tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from February 15 to 18, 1978 in Mollerusa , in the Spanish province of Lleida. It was the first binding world championship in Spain.

history

Hans Vultink had the great chance to become world champion in a cover for the first time. He had already won six games. In the last round, however, the defending champion Raymond Ceulemans waited , who had lost the game against his compatriot Ludo Dielis 195: 200 in 23 shots. In the decisive match against Vultink, however, the Belgian proved his nerve and won with 200: 162 in 24 shots. For the third time the Frenchman Francis Connesson took fourth place at a World Cup.
