The 1981 binding world championship was the eleventh tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from 7 to 10 May 1981 in Murcia (city) , in the Spanish province of Murcia. It was the second binding world championship in Spain.

history

After four wins in a row, Raymond Ceulemans had to surrender his world title to his compatriot Ludo Dielis . Dielis only lost one game against Nobuaki Kobayashi from Japan . The Murcian José Quetglas came in surprisingly third with the worst general average of all participants. The most spectacular game of the tournament was played by Ludo Dielis and Thomas Wildförster , who took part in the tournament for German champion Dieter Müller . Dielis played the tournament series of 117 points and Wildförster countered directly with 95 points but lost with 134: 200 in only six shots.
