The three-cushion European championship for national teams was held for the first time in 1985 in the three- cushion carom variant .
history
It is organized by the European carom billiards association CEB ( Confédération Européenne de Billard ). Until 2007 it was held at irregular intervals.
mode
As in the Team World Cup , teams of two players are played. From 1985 to 1989 the game was played at a distance of 30 points. From 1991 to 2012 the game was played on two sets of 15 points each, from 2007 onwards the game was increased to three sets of wins from the quarterfinals onwards. Since 2013, the group phase has been played up to 30 points and from the knockout round to 40 points. From the final round we played in Scotch Doubles . The whole tournament is played with a push . In the event of a tie in the knockout round, a penalty shootout will be decided.
Ranking list
The ranking is based on the minus system, as in the Team World Cup until 2017. The ranking (1–24) corresponds to the points to be awarded. The better the ranking, the fewer negative points are written to the team. Teams that are not registered receive 25 penalty points, teams that have not entered receive 50 penalty points ( see ranking ). The last eight tournaments are counted.
