Tonny Carlsen (born February 25, 1965 ) is a Danish carambola player and vice world champion in three cushion .

Career

Carlsen is one of the best three-cushion players in his nation. Carlsen achieved his first successes on the international stage at the three-cushion World Cup in 2000 in Saint-Étienne, France, when he made it to the finals. There he had to admit defeat 3-0 to the multiple Dutch world champion Dick Jaspers . The following year he came back on the podium, this time with a bronze medal. In May of the same year in Odense in front of a home crowd, he became vice European champion . In 2002 he was able to win the silver medal again in Izmir . At the Danish Championships he won gold in 2011, then silver in 2013, which he had already won in 2002. At the three-cushion world championship for national teams in 2012 , he won the bronze medal together with his teammate Thomas Andersen. At the 2018 World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, Carlsen set Sameh Sidhom 's tournament record, which has been in place since 2015, in the top series (HS) of 19 points.

UMB lock 2019

In spring 2019 he signed a contract with the newly formed Professional Billiards Association (of Korea) PBA. Since the PBA is not a member of the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB), players who take part in PBA tournaments are banned from participating in the tournament for one year, but no longer than three years. This ended his UMB season at the end of the 2018/19 season.
