Ronny Lindemann (born December 20, 1980 in Witten ) is a German carambola player and German three- cushion champion .

Career

As an amateur player, Lindemann works full-time as an employee of Stadtwerke Witten and gives preference to his job and his family, since, in his opinion, there is no secure funding from the billiards game. He only manages this balancing act between work and sport because his employer hired him as a “part-time worker”. This gives him the opportunity to deal flexibly with training and tournament times. Therefore his tournament participation is rather irregular, even though he is one of the best German players after Martin Horn . With him he competed several times as a team in the three-cushion world championship for national teams , but had to be satisfied with the ungrateful 4th place. His home club is BCC Witten , his hometown, with which he won the German Cup Team Championship in 2012 . In the same year he was still successful with the gold medal at the German Grand Prix . As usual in the scene, he plays for several clubs, including in the Netherlands, where he won the gold medal in the top division, the Eredivision (such as the 1st Bundesliga), in 2018 . In 2016 he achieved his greatest success to date with the individual title of the German three-cushion championship . In the final he was able to defeat the world champion Christian Rudolph with 40:13. Before that, he set a new German record in the top series (HS) against Stefan Dirks in the quarter-finals with 16 points . The old record of 15 was set by Siegfried Spielmann in 1954 . At the age of 62, this is likely to have been the longest-running billiards record in Germany. Martin Horn pulled the same in 2018. With him, Lindemann won the bronze medal in the three-cushion team at the European carom championships in Brandenburg an der Havel in May 2019 , behind Belgium and Spain. At the German three-cushion championship in Bad Wildungen in 2019 , he came back to the final after winning the title in 2016, but had to admit defeat to Horn, who played despite injury, 23:40 in 23 shots and was runner-up for the first time.

1st National League

After the BCC Witten played first class again in the 2006/07 season, they were runner-up in 2009, 2012, third in 2010, 2011, 2017 and won gold in 2013, 2014 and 2018.

Others

Lindemann is the sports marketing manager and sports supervisor of the carom department (individual) at BCC Witten. (Status: 10-2019)
