Bouguenais is a French city with 19,331 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It is located south of the provincial capital Nantes . Bouguenais grew out of two originally independent municipalities, Bouguenais les couëts and Bouguenais bourg .
