Bouaye ( Breton : BOUEZ ) is a French municipality with 7844 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Bouaye belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and the Canton of Rezé-1 . The inhabitants are called Boscéen (ne) s .
geography
Bouaye is located on the north bank of Lac de Grand-Lieu about 12 kilometers southwest of Nantes in the historic Pays de Retz landscape . The Acheneau flows through the municipality . Bouaye is surrounded by Bouguenais in the north and northeast, Saint-Aignan-Grandlieu in the east, Saint-Philibert-de-Grand-Lieu in the south, Saint-Mars-de-Coutais in the southwest, and Saint-Léger-les-Vignes in the west Brains in the northwest.
Bouaye is part of the Muscadet-Côtes de Grandlieu , Muscadet and Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine-growing regions .
