Port-Saint-Père ( Breton : Porzh-per ; Gallo : Port-Saent-PERC ) is a French municipality with 2913 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and the Canton of Machecoul (until 2015: Canton Le Pellerin ). The inhabitants are called Port-Saint-Périns .
geography
Port-Saint-Père is located on the Acheneau around twenty kilometers southwest of Nantes in the historic Pays de Retz landscape . Port-Saint-Père is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brains in the north and north-east, Saint-Léger-les-Vignes in the east, Saint-Mars-de-Coutais in the south and south-east, Sainte-Pazanne in the south and south-west, Saint-Hilaire- de-Chaléons in the south-west, Rouans in the west and north-west and Cheix-en-Retz in the north-west.
The former Route nationale 758 and the Nantes-Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie railway line run through the municipality .
