Saint-Léger-les-Vignes ( Breton : Sant-Lezer-ar-Gwiniegi ) is a French municipality with 1,844 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Saint-Léger-les-Vignes belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and is part of the canton of Rezé-1 (until 2015: canton of Bouaye ). The inhabitants are called Légériens .
geography
Saint-Léger-les-Vignes is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Nantes in the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine-growing region ; Muscadet is mainly produced here. The Acheneau , into which the Tenu flows here, flows along the southern municipal boundary . Saint-Léger-les-Vignes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brains in the north, Bouaye in the east, Saint-Mars-de-Coutais in the south and Port-Saint-Père in the west.
