Indre ( Breton Antr or Endrez ) is a French municipality with 3969 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire .
The name of the community is derived from the Latin word antrum (cave).
Indre is also called the city of the three islands .
The Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway runs through the town .
