Thouaré-sur-Loire ( Breton : Tarvieg ) is a commune with 10,025 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Thouaré-sur-Loire belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and is part of the canton of Carquefou . The inhabitants are called Thouaréen (ne) s .
geography
Thouaré-sur-Loire is located on the northern (right) bank of the Loire about ten kilometers northeast of Nantes . The municipality is surrounded by Carquefou in the north and north-west, Mauves-sur-Loire in the east and north-east, Saint-Julien-de-Concelles in the south and south-east and Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire in the west.
The northern municipal boundary forms the former route national 23bis .
The place has a train station on the Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway line .

The place is mentioned for the first time as Thouaré in 1123 , its prehistory is lost in legends.

- Saint-Vincent Church, neo-Gothic sacred building from 1856
