Machecoul-Saint-Même ( Breton : Machikoul-Sant-Masen ) is a French municipality with 7473 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and is part of the canton of Machecoul .
With effect from January 1, 2016, the municipality was formed as Commune nouvelle by merging the former municipalities of Machecoul and Saint-Même-le-Tenu .

Machecoul-Saint-Même is located about 32 kilometers southwest of Nantes in the Pays de Retz countryside . Machecoul-Saint-Même is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villeneuve-en-Retz and Sainte-Pazanne in the north, Saint-Mars-de-Coutais and Saint-Lumine-de-Coutais in the Northeast, Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu and La Marne in the east, Paulx in the south and south-east and Bois-de-Céné in the south and west.
