Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine ( Breton : Kelenneg-ar-Mewan ; Gallo : Aègerfoeylh ) is a French municipality with 3936 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Nantes and the canton of Clisson (until 2015: canton of Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine ). The inhabitants are called Aigrefeuillais or Agrifoliens .
geography
Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine is located about 19 kilometers south-southeast of Nantes on the Maine River . Here in the vineyards Gros Plant du Pays Nantais and Muscadet Sevre et Maine especially is Muscadet produced. Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Château-Thébaud in the north and north-west, Maisdon-sur-Sèvre in the north and north-east, Saint-Lumine-de-Clisson in the east, Remouillé in the south and south-east, La Planche in the south and south-west as well as Montbert to the west.
The former National Route 137 runs through the municipality .
