Brains ( Breton : Burning ) is a French municipality with 2,840 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Brains belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and is part of the canton of Rezé-1 (until 2015: canton of Bouaye ). The inhabitants are called Brennois .
geography
Brains is located about 18 kilometers southwest of Nantes in the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine region ; Muscadet is mainly produced here. The Acheneau flows along the southwestern municipal boundary . Brains is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau in the north, La Montagne and Bouguenais in the north-east, Bouaye in the east and south-east, Saint-Léger-les-Vignes in the south and south-east, Port-Saint-Pierre in the south and south-west , Cheix-en-Retz in the west and Le Pellerin in the northwest.
