Pont-Saint-Martin is located on the Ognon River in the historic Pays de Retz region, about 13 kilometers south of Nantes . Pont-Saint-Martin is surrounded by Bouguenais in the north and north-west, Rezé in the north and north-east, Les Sorinières in the east, Le Bignon in the south-east, La Chevrolière in the south and south-west and Saint-Aignan-Grandlieu in the west.

Pont-Saint-Martin is assigned to the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais , Muscadet and Muscadet-Côtes de Grandlieu wine-growing regions .
