The canton of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand- Lieu (Breton Canton Sant-Filberzh-Deaz ) is a French canton in the Arrondissement of Nantes , in the Loire-Atlantique and the region Pays de la Loire ; its capital is Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu .
history
The canton was established in 1790. From 1790 to 2015, five municipalities belonged to the canton of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 12. In addition to the previous communes, 3 of the 8 communes of the previous canton of Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine , all 3 communes of the previous canton of Legé and the commune of Pont-Saint-Martin left added to the canton of Bouaye .

The old canton of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu comprised five municipalities over an area of 174.27 km². These were: La Chevrolière , La Limouzinière , Saint-Colomban , Saint-Lumine-de-Coutais and Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (main town). Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4442.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Stephan Beaugé / Karine Paviza (both UD) won against Claude Naud / Stéphanie Neuville-Bernier (both DVG ) with a share of the vote of 53.67% (turnout: 51.66%).
