The Canton of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (Breton Canton Chapel-Erzh ) is a French canton in the arrondissement Châteaubriant-Ancenis and Nantes , in the Loire-Atlantique and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town is La Chapelle-sur-Erdre .
history
The canton was established in 1790. From 1790 to 2015, four municipalities belonged to the canton of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 6. In addition to the four previous communes, Fay-de-Bretagne from the canton Blain and Vigneux-de-Bretagne from the canton Saint-Étienne-de-Montluc were added.

The old canton of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre comprised four municipalities on an area of 137.67 km². These were: Grandchamps-des-Fontaines , La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (main town), Sucé-sur-Erdre and Treillières . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4407.

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the seven voting couples achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Erwan Bouvais / Elisa Drion (both Union de la Droite) won against Christine Chevalier / Claude Lefort (both DVG ) with a share of the vote of 53.22% (turnout: 51.34%).
