Fay-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Faouell ; Gallo : Faè ) is a French municipality with 3618 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (until 2015: canton Blain ). The inhabitants are called Fayens .

Fay-de-Bretagne is about 25 kilometers northwest of Nantes . Neighboring communities of Fay-de-Bretagne are Blain in the north, Notre-Dame-des-Landes in the east and south-east, Le Temple-de-Bretagne in the south, Malville in the south-west, Savenay in the west and south-west and Bouvron in the west.
