Church of Guémené

Guémené-Penfao ( Breton Gwenvenez-Penfaou ) is a French municipality with 5200 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Guémené-Penfao . The inhabitants are called Guémenéens .

geography

Guémené-Penfao lies on the Don River , a tributary of the Vilaine . Guémené-Penfao is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Langon in the north, Pierric in the northeast, Conquereuil and Marsac-sur-Don in the east, Le Gâvre in the south and southeast, Plessé in the south and southwest, Avessac in the west and Massérac in the northwest.

The municipality consists of the localities of Guémené-Penfao , Beslé-sur-Vilaine and Guénouvry .

The district of Beslé has a train station on the Rennes – Redon line .
