Abbaretz ( Breton : Abbarez ; Gallo : Abarèt ) is a French municipality with 2088 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Guémené-Penfao (until 2015: canton of Nozay ). The inhabitants are called Abbarois .
geography
Abbaretz is about 37 kilometers north of Nantes . Abbaretz is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Treffieux in the north, Issé in the north and northeast, La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne in the east, Joué-sur-Erdre in the southeast, Saffré in the south and southwest, Puceul in the southwest and Nozay in the west and southwest.
The place has a train station on the Nantes – Châteaubriant railway line .
